po|la|ko adverb: slowly; slowdown
Growing up in a Croatian family you hear this word a lot. However, the direct translation doesn't grasp the true meaning. Polako is a state of mind; it's encouraging someone to be mindful, appreciate what they have and to take life one day at a time. We thought this a fitting name for our company since people usually light candles during the slow moments of their days or to help bring calm to a chaotic one.
So, while you're burning one of our candles we encourage you to pause and take a deep breath in, have a moment for yourself and polako.
